As I'm off to Paris in a few days I thought I'd do a little inspiration post showing one of the outfits I'm planning to recreate when I'm over there. I wanted to have a stereotypical 'French' outfit, because you can't go to Paris and not wear monochrome stripes with a beautiful red lip right?
I already have the over sized t shirt from H&M that I've featured in this and I'm in love with it. It's so soft and can be worn over jeans, leggings, skirts, shorts, or even as a dress if you're a bit shorter than me (I'm 5ft 7 and can just about get away with it but wear a pair of H&M legging shorts underneath just in case). I also have the Joni jeans, although mine have the ripped knees. These are a staple that I'd recommend for every wardrobe, they're as comfy as wearing leggings but with the support of jeans and the high waist means all your rolls or lumpy bits are safely tucked away and slimmed down!

For shoes I'll be taking a pair similar to the H&M ones I've put on this list. As it's going to be hot but we'll be doing a lot of exploring, I want a comfortable pair of flats/sandals that will allow my feet to breathe but not leave me with sore toes. I'm also taking a floppy sun hat similar to this River Island one, I picked it up from Primark last year and this will actually be the first time I'll have worn it out so I'm excited to see how I can play around and style my hair underneath. I didn't include a bag on this list but I managed to find a small black cross body bag from Primark that's the perfect size to fit my camera, phone and any other essentials in, plus it was only £6.

I'm also taking my prescription sunglasses with me as I'm going to be doing a lot of sightseeing, I want to be able to see what I'm looking at from a distance without having to squint. They're pretty similar to the ones I've shown here but they were Specsavers own make. As for accessorising, I'm still loving gold jewellery. Anything chunky or simple immediately catches my eye and I'll be taking a small but substantial range of rings, bracelets and necklaces to keep me well prepared.

Last but not least, I'm going to be keeping my makeup fairly minimal but want to try out a classic red lip. I'll be taking MAC's Diva lipstick with me as I got it with a voucher I was given for my birthday but haven't actually worn it yet, shocking I know.I also plan on doing my nails a similar vampy red which will go brilliantly with all the black and white I'll be wearing when I'm away.

So what do you think of this outfit? Is it something you'd wear yourself or do you prefer to dress up rather than down? I am taking mainly skirts and dresses with me as it's going to be hot but it's always good to have a simple outfit like this even if it's just for travelling or chilling out in.

  1. Love the sunglasses and lipstick!

  2. Me too! I'm really debating picking that lipstick up in Duty Free.

  3. The sunglasses and the lipstick are perfect! Love the striped t-shirt too! :) xx

  4. Yeah the t-shirt proved a great buy! It was so comfortable and soft, I can't stop wearing it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment or share your thoughts with me. I read every single one, but if you'd like to ask me a question or contact me then you can also email me at! :)
