I recently picked up some hair and beauty products that had been on my wishlist for quite a while or that I was running low on, and as usual I wanted to share them with you. Most of these were just essentials as I was close to running out of foundation and dry shampoo but things like the highlight powder and curling wand were items that I've been wanting to buy for a few months now and finally did.

The first items I that picked up were a new mascara, foundation, and lipstick. The foundation I chose to repurchase was Max Factor Lasting Performance, and the only one that I use right now as I find it's perfect for my skin type, although I may look at trying out a different one when this runs out as it's the lightest shade they do, but currently too dark for my skin tone.
Instead of repurchasing my current mascara I decided to try out a new one and after reading some reviews online I went with the False Lash Effect Fusionby Max Factor. I'd tried the normal False Lash Effect in the past and really liked it so when I saw that this one claimed to volumise and lengthen your lashes I was immediately interested. I'm so glad I chose this one as it makes my lashes look so much longer, even without curling them and only one coat on (perfect as I recently cut off the tips of my eyelashes on one eye by mistake...).
Finally I picked up a new lipstick by Rimmel. It's one of the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks in Shade 16. A beautiful neutral pink shade that goes well with everything and anything. This is probably one of my favourite purchases as it applies so well and I've fallen completely in love with the colour of it.

My next choices were a cream blusher and highlighting powder from MUA. I had never tried a cream blusher before and wasn't too sure how I'd feel about it so I decided to try out a cheap one from MUA in the shade Dolly, but I actually really like it. It blends in perfectly and is a beautiful peach shade, one that I'd never tried for blusher but has made me want more peachy tones as I think they suit me a lot better than the pinks.
I'd also been after the Undress Your Skin Highlighter since I first saw it being blogged about but unfortunately it was always sold out in the stores near me, until I went in the other day and managed to finally find one! It was well worth the wait though as the colour is a frosty champagne pink which really suits my skin tone and looks lovely with the cream blusher I bought.

For once I decided to splurge and treat myself to Benefit's Porefessional as my trusty sample tube had finally run out. As there was an offer on when I purchased it online I was also sent another mini Porefessional sample tube and could choose from two other samples to try out. I decided to go for the Total Moisture Facial Cream and the Fake Up Concealer. I haven't yet tried either of these samples as I'm saving them for a night out when I like to spend more time on my makeup but I'm interested to see how I feel about them as the only Benefit product that I've tried has been the Porefessional.

As I had also been looking for a good hair oil for a while I bought theL'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil which was slightly more than what I'd usually spend on a hair product, but I've been using it every day since and have hardly made a dent in it so it's well worth the money! I also bought a new Batitse Dry Shampoo as mine had run out but this time I went for the Cherry scent and it smells amazing! With my banana conditioner, cherry dry shampoo, and raspberry scented hairspray, it's safe to say my hair smells like a giant bowl of fruit. A smell which I'd be happy to be stuck with forever.

I also picked up Lush's Buffy Moisturising Scrub as I ran out a while ago and it's the only thing I've found that keeps my bum (sorry for tmi ladies!) soft and smooth. I really recommend this scrub, it's slightly on the expensive side but it lasts for ages and does the job so well with minimal effort on your part, a quick scrub and you're done.
As I'd seen so many people raving about the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm I decided to get one to see what all the fuss was about. While I do like the product, I don't like the colour that I chose, Cherry Me. I find that it's just an odd colour on me and makes my lips look like they've had an allergic reaction to something haha! As I like the actual product I'm probably going to try it in the peach and pink shades instead and see if I get on better with them.

Last but not least, I purchased the Remington Pearl Curling Wand which I had been eyeing up for a while. As I'm used to curling my hair with my straighteners it's taking me a while to get the hang of how to use this and find a way to get the curls that I like. I may also purchase one with a thicker barrel to do loose curls as that's pretty much my go-to hairstyle but I am pleased with this curling wand as Remington is my favourite brand for hair styling tools and I find that all their products are brilliant quality and insane value for money (why would I want to spend over £100 on GHDs when I can get £20 Remington straighteners which are even better in my opinion?!).

I'm really pleased with the items that I've bought this month. They're all things that I'll use on a regular basis which makes them great value for money and well worth buying. I'm looking forward to trying more cream blushers and Benefit products, hopefully I love them as much as I love the ones that I already have!

  1. I have the remington wand and I love it so much! My hair is dead straight and never keeps a curl but with that wand the curls stay in for two days! Just make sure you use the glove cause they get super hot!!

  2. I picked up Porefessional over the weekend for the first time. I absolutely love it! I struggled with the Pearl wand after always curling with my straighteners and ended up selling it. I now have that fancy Babyliss one and it's a dream!
